Week 10- Independent Research Reflection
I was really interested in learning about the relationship between trauma and meditation this week. I did not quite understand prior to this learning how aspects of meditation could be triggering to some people, but I think this aspect of the practice is extremely important. Considering why some happiness practices may be more difficult for some to integrate into their lifestyle is something I want to continue to research and along with that learning about how practices like meditation can be altered to accommodate more people with diverse backgrounds.
One question I have been wondering throughout my independent research this week connects to happiness fit. I’m wondering whether individuals should engage in happiness practices that they are simply gravitating toward or intrigued by, or instead choose to engage in happiness practices based off personality types? Which option is more likely to result in higher success/ greater subjective well-being? I think it would be interesting to do further research to learn more about this.
Will you focus on the happiness fit or the complexities of using mindfulness?
ReplyDeleteI'm going in the direction of complexities of using mindfulness in schools with a focus on equity and mindfulness. I'm planning on including topics of racial bias, trauma, and usage into that.
